Foundations of Action Learning

 

If you are ready for a deeper understanding of Action Learning, or are considering becoming a certified coach, the two day ACTION LEARNING FOUNDATION session will take you to the next level. This session covers the six components of Action Learning and the two ground rules in detail. Participants will learn the theory behind why Action Learning works, as well as have an opportunity to experience Action Learning both as a participant and/or as a coach.

Upon Completion:

  • Certificate of Participation
  • Ability to participate in an Action Learning team
  • Understand the practical and theoretical principles behind Action Learning and why it works

Certification for Action Learning Coaches

 

If you are ready to become a Certified Action Learning Coach, and have completed the Foundations Workshop, sign up for the certification program. These two 2-day sessions will cover many “what-if” scenarios. Participants will be required to start an Action Learning program within an organisation. Projects and discussion will centre around successes and challenges faced by the coach. These additional four days provide participants the skills and experience they need to function as Action Learning coaches in a variety of challenging situations.

Prerequisite:

Foundations of Action Learning Workshop

What you will learn:

  • When to make an intervention
  • The appropriate questions to ask
  • How to keep participants focused
  • How to handle dysfunctional team behaviour

Certification Requirements:

  • Conduct Action Learning within an organisation
  • Demonstrate ability as a coach
  • Demonstrate ability to determine various bases for intervention

Certification for Senior Action Learning Coaches

If you are a Certified Action Learning Coach and would like to be able to lead certification programs, the Certification for Senior Action Learning Coaches is the program for you. You will repeat the Foundations course and the Action Learning Certification course - co-leading it with a Senior Action Learning Coach. You will be responsible for all aspects of the program - from leading the discussions, to coaching the participants on their technique, to giving feedback on papers and other written assignments.

Who should attend:

Certified Action Learning coaches seeking to train others as Action Learning coaches

Prerequisite:

Action Learning coach's certification.

Shadow Coaching

This is designed for those looking for one-on-one feedback of their Action Learning coaching. A shadow coaching session consists of a pre-brief, a session observation, and a debrief. CALC participants can choose a shadow coaching session as a make up for each class day that is missed. All CALC participants must attend a minimum of 2 of the 4 class days. Fee: $1,000.
